From Amanda Matava on February 27th, 2020
A documentary detailing the installation of Sol LeWitt's Wall Drawing #793C, which was created for the remodeled entrance of the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford in April, 1996. Considered a founder of Conceptual Art and Minimalism, LeWitt is best known for his large-scale “Wall Drawings,” rigorous arrays of designs, shapes, grids, and colors rendered in pencil and paint in coherence with strict instructions and diagrams to be followed in executing the work. LeWitt was born in Hartford, took art classes at the Wadsworth, and was chosen as one of the first three artists to open the space in the Wadsworth's Matrix program.
