Moderator Charles Taylor (Trinity College, class of 1970) introduces The Music of our Era, a discussion held on Zoom on May 26, 2021, at 4pm ET. The discussion was organized by the Trinity Class of 1970 Reunion Committee as part of its 50th Reunion celebration. Appearing on camera were several guests, including Leroy Pearson (a blues performer, commentator, and historian living in St. Louis, Missouri), Daniel J. Reilert (Trinity class of 1970), and Paul M. Herron '70 (Trinity class of 1970). Discussion revolved around the history of popular and less well-known strands of music available during the 1950s and 1960s, including the blues, rock n' roll, soul, and R&B, as well as the role of the music industry in propagating popular music. Additional comments were provided by several other members of the Trinity College class of 1970.
